The Karinthy Connection

Ironically, the links in this chain are very difficult to trace. There was a weekly radio program broadcast on 612 ABC Brisbane, Queensland, Australia titled "The Karinthy Connection".  This apparently was the first broadcast:

612 ABC Brisbane
Drive with Matt Webber
3:00pm - 6:00pm

The Karinthy Connection
12 April 2011 , 6:18 PM by nicole gundi

In 1929, Hungarian writer and poet Frigyes Karinthy wrote a short story called Chains.

Few people know of the book or the author but you would know the phrase he coined, “six degrees of separation”.

Welcome to The Karinthy Connection.
Finding all the programs in the series is not easy. One can only trace them backwards. The last program I was able to find was this, but without a backward link:
Drive with Matt Webber
3:00pm - 6:00pm
The Karinthy Connection with Bern
13 December 2011 , 7:08 PM by Bern Young
This is the previous installment:
The Karinthy Connection with Russell Thomas
09 December 2011 , 1:10 PM by Bern Young
This is the still previous installment, with the customary introduction. From here you can trace the series back to the beginning, episode by episode:
Drive with Matt Webber
3:00pm - 6:00pm
The Karinthy Connection with James Reyne
29 November 2011 , 7:23 PM by Bern Young

In 1929, Hungarian writer and poet Frigyes Karinthy wrote a short story called "Chains". Few people know of the book or the author but you would know the phrase he coined, "six degrees of separation".

This is The Karinthy Connection.

Every Tuesday after 5.30pm, a music lover is invited onto Drive with Bernadette Young to continue the musical chain.
If the series picked up again in 2012, I don't have the patience to hunt it down. I cannot find it in the current or recent programming of the station. There is or was a separate program on this station called "The Chain", but whether this was inspired in any way by the same idea I do not know.
